How to Cultivate Compassion in Our Life

All of us have potential to be compassionate, where we wish for others to be free of suffering and its causes.

Compassion has an impact on our sense of self-worth. So fostering compassion can help us excel in all aspects of our life, especially on spiritual, physical, and intellectual levels that will bring immediate and long-term happiness to ourselves and others.

Here are ways to help us cultivate compassion in our life.

Practice mindfulness.

Being mindful means focusing and accepting our thoughts and senses on what we are doing at the time instead of multitasking.

Pay attention to our body and emotions and accept all the movement and emotions!!
Accepting our feelings is the key tol help us be kinder to ourself and develop self-compassion.

Develop empathy for your fellow human beings.

Many times we are centered on ourselves and ignore our sense of empathy.  Once we are able to put ourself in someone else’s shoes and think about how it might make us feel, we can begin to understand how they might feel.

Try to write down the ways that we show compassion for ourself, for others and how we can be mindful in our daily life. This will help accerelate the progress of our self-compassion.

Be grateful for the good things we have in our life.

When we are grateful for the good things that we have in our life, we can show compassion to others who might not have as much as we have.

Try positive self-talk. When we use positive self-talk , we remind and encourage ourself to be compassionate and also show ourself compassion by thinking kind thoughts about ourself.

Forgive ourself and others.

Everyone has done and will do something that they feel regret. One way to increase our self-compassion is to forgive ourself. Let's say we should definitely learn from our mistakes,

Forgive others. Because forgiveness is one way to show compassion to others, instead of holding onto embarrassment or anger, try forgiving people who upset us especially when someone is sincerely sorry for something that they have done wrong.

The more we can cultivate compassion, the happier and the more peaceful we are.  Especially, when we are able to extend our compassion equally to everyone by having feeling that everyone is equal in wanting to be happy, and everyone is also equal in wanting to be free of unhappiness and suffering. That is the truth of life; the moment that the real happiness is happening to our heart.
