At dawn, although it was raining, the monastic mentors and the novices gathered for the morning chant, the daily routine of monastic life. The monastic mentor and the novices went for alms in the community nearby and at the tree tunnels as usual. The monastic mentors let the novices practice Requesting Dependence (Nissaya) chant –the tradition in the Vinaya which the novices who have been ordained for less than 5 years should perform to the senior monks. Then they had meal. After cleaning the alms bowls, the monastic mentors gave some lessons to the novices about living with others.
In the afternoon class, "Learning Process", Christoffer ‘Cedjie’ John Aquino, an English teacher and a rock climbing instructor and Uthit YodKhamman rock climber volunteer shared their real experience of being a part of rescue team who tried to save a young football team trapped in a flooded underground cave in Chiang Rai province.
Then they did evening chanting and cleaned the toilets with the monastic mentors.
During the Dhamma story session, the monastic mentors continued the story of the Buddha’s life and Hunter Trabing and Jack Brown summarized the progress of all novices.
