The sun rising in the sky.

Birds are sweetly, singing all-round.

The young monk is mindful walking, 

contemplation gained through wisdom.

As morning sun glitters and glows,

Rahula starts Dhamma lesson.

Buddha’s son learns with his pure heart.

This sand gathered represents wisdom.  

This day is blessed.  Dhamma is learnt

as much as all this gathered sand.

Buddha praises with admiration,  

Rahula has the greatest love to learn.
